Student Goals Setting Week

All Harold Washington Students will set SY 2019 Goals to set a standard  for the school year. Student will set On-track goals for reading and math, NWEA goals (3- 8 grade),  behavior goals, and attendance goals.

BOY TRC/DIBELS, mClass Assessment

September 4, 2018 - October 5, 2018

Students in grades K - 2  will take TRC/DIBELS, mClass  assessments.

Back to School Night (Open House)

Ms. Walker will review the school’s performance data from 2018 and outline goals for the new school year. Families will have a chance to  meet teachers, learn about their child’s academic goals for the new year, and meet school partners, including after school program providers. (Promotion Policy)

Classroom spelling bees will be held the week of  January 7, 2019. All winners names must be submitted to the Spelling Bee Committee by January 11, 2019.  Please submit 3 winners per classroom and 1 alternate.

The Week of  March 25 - 29,  2019

Students will enjoy learning about college through a week of fun. Students will visit college campuses and explore their college options.

Harold Lee Washington was an American lawyer and politician from the state of Illinois who was elected as the 41st Mayor of Chicago. Washington was noted as the first African–American to be elected as mayor of Chicago in February 1983.
