Student will compete in a school wide science fair.  Students will compete by cycle as follows:

K- 2, 3-4, and 5-8

Winners will be announced Monday, December 4, 2017

The First Place Middle School winner will compete at the Regional Science Fair.

 

Family Math Night

Families will have a chance to learn more about their child’s strengths as a mathematician, HW’s plan to boost math achievement, and how to develop in their child a love for math.

Cycle spelling bees will be held.  Students will compete in cycles as follows: K - 2, 3 - 4, and 5 - 8.

Read Across America Week is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2—Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids and books!  (K - 4)

Harold Lee Washington was an American lawyer and politician from the state of Illinois who was elected as the 41st Mayor of Chicago. Washington was noted as the first African–American to be elected as mayor of Chicago in February 1983.

Butterfly Festival

May 18, 2018 - June 8, 2018

Students will study the life cycle of the butterfly through observation. Students have the opportunity to witness an amazing transformation as caterpillars turn into beautiful painted lady butterflies in as little as 3 weeks. Grades K- 2
